Bio Steve Goodie is an award-winning designer of sound, composer, multi-instrumental musician, record producer, and engineer. He began his training as a student of drums and guitar at the age of eight. After majoring in music at Lawrence University, he landed his first job in 1986 at Myriad Productions in Gainesville, Florida, where he began learning the skills of engineering and production. In 1988 he moved to Nashville, and since then he has worked in many studios, with all types of gear, analog and digital, audio and video. In 1997 he built his own ever-evolving production facility, "Punch Sound," in Santa Monica, California, and in 2005 he moved it back to Nashville, with a satellite facility remaining in Los Angeles. He creates music, ambience, and sound effects for CDs, film, theater, television, radio, the internet, and industry. He has worked with such talent as Garry Marshall ("Happy Days"), David Milch ("Deadwood"), Crystal Bernard ("Wings"), Wendie Malick ("Just Shoot Me"), Lou Diamond Philips ("La Bamba"), Noah Wiley ("E.R."), Stephen Lang ("Law And Order"), and Carol Lawrence ("West Side Story"). Steve is familiar and proficient with hardware and software by Neve, MCI, Sony, Otari, iZ, DigiDesign, Amek, dbx, Mackie, Neumann, Manley, Massenburg, Lexicon, Apogee, Drawmer, Genelec, Allen & Heath, Dolby, Zoom, Korg, Kurzweil, Focusrite, Furman, Yamaha, Marshall, Carvin, Roland, Alesis, JBL, Auratone, Tascam, Hafler, Denon, Eventide, AKG, Sennheiser, Telefunken, ElectroVoice, Shure, Adobe, Sonic Foundry, Twelve-Tone Systems, Cakewalk, Emu, Peavey, Akai, and many others. His learning curve is very steep. Steve plays guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and mandolin at a studio level. In 2004 Steve won an Ovation Award for Sound Design for "Cold/Tender," produced at The Theatre At Boston Court, Pasadena, California. In 1999 he won a Garland Award and was nominated for an L.A. Weekly Award for Sound Design for “The Memorandum,” produced at The Odyssey Theater, Los Angeles, California.
